on one of my PC's i have a SY-P4VTE Mobo and says the FSB is 533/800Mhz and it cas DDR 333/400 and HT tech suport.

My probelm is i can only get it up got 166Mhz for the FSB, i have DDR400RAm, and a Celeron D CPU(2.8Ghz, FSB of 533Mhz.)I tried every jumper cap settings and i can OC it to 198 but then the PC dosn;t even start. how the heck do i get it up all the way...

Also when i get it up to 166Mhz it makes the clock speed of the CPU 3.6 which is OCing it by .8Ghz, so i have to keep it at 133Mhz so i don't kill the CPU.

My VCORE is 1.264, how do i change it? in the bio's i can veiw it in the hardware moniter but i cant find a place where i can make it higher, or do i make something else higher that makes that higher?

And you said to get that CPU at 200MHZ but on the box it says the FSB(on the CPUbox) can be up to 533Mhz. Its a Intel Celeron D 2.8Ghz. Thanks.

The box is misleading, 533 is actually a FSB of 133 but it is quad data rate (same idea as DDR memory). Since you are controlling the FSB via jumpers I suspect the Vcore will be adjusted similarly, check the manual for specifics.

dam misleading boxes. so with my mobo andCPU upgrade i got a 1Ghz more clock speed on what seema like a worse CPU for how its runing my PC. Blah! i should have left it alone. but hey i got it for free!

All i had to do was sign up for a frys credit card then i got the package for free :) yay. now i shall never use the credit card again.

Yeah it amazes me that its missed so much especially considering it right um.. next to the um... "New Post" button :P
