Can't get on to the web

Hello. The computer in my signature won't load the browser. I've just been using internet explorer. The connectivity icon says that I have a connection and it doesn't find anything when trying to diagnose it, but the browser says that it cannot display the webpage. Any ideas? Thanks.

first things first, are you behind a router or are you directly connected to the modem?

Did this just happen or is this a new build or whatever? You could be infected with malware. We need more info.

Hey, thanks for the help. Sorry I wasn't more specific. I am behind a router, which I reset (didn't help). The build is around a year old by now, so it's not new.

I have two computers up here connected to the same modem. One works, one doesn't. It has to be the computer itself. Come to think of it, AVG anti-spyware updated almost right before this happened. The update required a restart. I don't know why I didn't tell you guys this before . I'll run some scans as well. Do you think it's malware?

EDIT: The virus, spyware, and adware programs can all update, I just can't surf the web (or log on to Rockstar Social club to play GTA IV).
