Hey there
Im having trouble getting my router to work. When i hook up my router I cant search the internet, cant get any pages to load. However if i open vuze it will download things that are loaded into it. When i disconnect the router and hook straight broadband connection everything works fine.

Are there any settings on a router that would block the internet but still allow access to downloads and games?

The router is ASUS RT-N12.

Thanks

Was it working previously or did you just get this? Access the routers configuration page and see what the status is.

Ive been having this problem for awhile. It used to be off and on but now it never works. I took it back to my ISP and they reset it and it worked for a bit and than stopped working again.
When i check the status it says connected and you can even see it downloading and uploading.
Maybe I got a bad router?

If you have been having issues with for a while, I would definitely get a new router.

try ping an IP adress (8.8.8.8) i have telia-DK and if i use the DNS's they provide, i can't open any wepsites.
Do you have the possibility to use a cable, if you're connectet via WiFi?

if you can ping that ip adress, you can use google's DNS servers
8.8.8.8 and
4.4.4.4
as your dns servers, see if that help

^ I would try that first. A lot of ISPs have flaky/horrible DNS servers. If you're using the out-of-the-box configuration, your router is likely using the DNS reference it got through the DHCP assignment on the WAN interface, which would be using your ISP's DNS.

The best way to implement this change is on the router and you can specifically assign what DNS endpoint your LAN clients get from the internal DHCP server. You can also do it computer-specifically for testing.
