Can't get sound from speakers, new build

So I just built a new comp, and I am using on board sound. The problem is, is that I cant get sound from my speakers. It's not the speakers, because I plugged them into my laptop, and they work fine.


One reason that may be the problem, is that my dvd/cd-rom drive didn't come with the cable that connects it to the sound dealio. But it might not be that because the sound also doesn't work for when I stream music or videos.

Exactly, install the chipset drivers for you motherboard and then the sound dirvers and you will be fine. If you have trouble, download PC Wizard from my sig and install and run it. Then go to FILE< SAVE AS and click OK, then copy the text out of that saved file into this thread.
