Can't install heatsink fan

I seem to be having trouble installing the heatsink fan onto the CPU. For some reason when I clip it on one side, I can't clip the other side because it doesn't reach. I tried to force it to clip but I'm afraid I might damage some components.
Any suggestions/help?

P.S. Its an AMD Phenom II x4 955 CPU that also comes with the heatsink fan

Well like how hard do you have to force it? I mean the clips are far enough that I will probably have to force it enough that It will bend the metal clips

The clip should have a bit of bend in it when you do this. It keeps it clamped down pretty good but you need put some omfph into getting it down.

lol. just force it, but don't break anything.

haha, this reminds of when i was trying to take off the heatsink from my old socket 462 board...had an old athlon xp 1600+. that cooler wouldn't come off without a fight, I can't imagine trying to put that thing back on.

i just built my new computer with a 955 and stock HSF, it was a tight fit, but make sure the black arm on the side isnt clamped down
