cant install patch

hi i have been playing swat 4 and i tryed to play online it said wrong packet so i downloaded the 1.1 patch but when i try to install it i am told it is the wrong language and it cant continue to install i downloaded it again from gamespot were i get all my patches and it said the same thing,
i am wondering if it is because i have just downloaded game jackal and have used that so i dont need the cd please help because i would like to play it online
