I cant install XP Home edition cause some files wont install on my computer. There are at least 10 files probably even more but here are some of them that cant be installed. cpqdap01.sys, cyycoins.chm, dvdplay.exe, tsodvd.sys. Those are just some of the files I cant install there are many more and I searched the XP Home disk on a different computer and I cant find these files on the XP disc. I have used different harddrives and cables and i have used 2 different XP discs one was Professional and one was Home and they are missing the same files. Does anybody know what is going on?

The specs for the computer is in my sig.

I assume you don't have another CD drive to try the installation with.

Probably a now defective CD, unless it's warezed.

I have used 2 CD's a XP Home and a XP Professional and both disks are missing the same files.

well the reason you can't see the particualr files is because they are compressed in the .cab files. Have you tried formatting and doing a fresh install on a completely blank hard drive. It could be corruption of the cd's also could be it doesn't like something about your previous install.

This is a brand new harddrive i am installing on i have tried 2 differnet XP cds and 2 differnet harddrives and CD drives and nothing is working. Also when it is half way through copying the files i get a blue screen so i dont know what is wrong.

Well i fixed it i took out my new ram and put my old in and did the same with the videocard now hopefully it is just the ram that is bad.

hmmm could be, who know, in answer to your previous question if you have a full version yes you should still be able to use it as an upgrade although since you fixed it i doubt you'll be doing that.
