so i was on my computer and it detected a virus..now i cant log into my windows as it just logs me out right away. i tried to repair it and no help. the only other thing i have is the UBCD. can anybody help me out because i dont want to wipe my files?

Boot into safe mode by pressing F8 during start up and select "Safe Mode with Networking". If you haven't already, download an AV program such as AVG Free, install it, and then run it.

you could run the the AV programs in UBCD but i doubt they are up to date enough to detect the virus. Do you have any clue what virus it may be?

maybe you can connect that hdd to another com as slave. then scan using that computer.

i think its a trojan..mcafee detected it as like new malware.exe or something. i could try the slave thing.but could it mess up my other computer?

live cd or donate another HD (another = one to boot from to access corrupted HD). I'm sure you can find a solution by searching. There has to be a way to add an AV onto the live cd or burn onto a second CD, etc.

I don't have my references/files/software in front of me so that's all I got.

use UBCD to delete the password for your account and try booting back into windows.

really this looks like a backup wipe and reinstall.
