Hi everyone,
Hope someone could help shed some light on this problem. I created a home domain with two client pc's and one domain controller running server 2003, clients are running xp pro. On the dc I create 10 computer accounts and 10 users. From my client pc I could log on as a domain administrator...but when I try to logon as a user I created from the dc, it gives me an error msg "local policy on this system does not allow you to log on interactively". My two clients are joined to the domain. I thought my dc checks for authentication, why is my local policy on my client system giving me the error.
I googled this error and its talks about remote desktop connection. Im not trying to remote into my dc, I'm trying to logon to the domain.

Any help would be much apprectiated.

thank you

you might have created something different,

you need to make accounts / users... i think you have created something different.

I don't believe you need to create any computers, that should be done automatically once you have a computer join to the domain for the first time.

Are you able to log onto the domain accounts on the DC itself, instead of the client PC's?

Are you running DNS and DHCP off your DC?

You need to go into the network settings and in the DNS tab add the server, or have it obtain that information through DHCP. Then if your LDAP is set up correctly your client machine should try to hit the AD first to authenticate.

I would like to thank you guys for your responses I appreciate it. I did find out what was wrong. In the DC I went to Adminstrative tools\Domain Controller Security Policy and added Users group. I'm not sure if it should be there or not but if I want to log on as a user from any pc I had to put it there.

Cohen...your right...I don't need to create computer accounts they get created on there own. I just do it for self assurance thats all no big deal.

I do have dhcp and dns install on my dc.

again thanks guys...
