I'm having trouble logging into any of my secure sites that I visit a number of times daily. Any site I go that requires a username and password comes up saying "This page cannot be displayed......blah blah blah" Anyone know of some settings that may have gotten changed that I could change back?

Thanks.

Not sure what a rougher is, but I don't think so. It has always worked fine, but just the other day it started this.

He means router. Shouldn't give you this much trouble.

If this is an IE problem download firefox. Problem solved :D

Check your cipher strength on IE though and make sure it's 128-bit.If you have any modern version of Windows I can't imagine itnot being 128-bit though.

I downloaded Firefox, but now that even says "The connection was refused when attempting to contact start.mazilla.org." How do I fix this too? Any help on that or my origional problem would be greatly appreciated.

Using firefox would just be a bypass and doesnt fix the problem. In IE, go to Tools > Internet options > Security and make sure its set to medium. If it is, try dropping it down a level.

Thanks.....It was already set on medium, and when I lower it, it won't allow me. It says "The reccomended security level for this zone in Medium." How might I get that to come down? I seem to remember that I used to keep all my settings on Low so I wouldn't run into any problems like this.

That worked! Thanks for the tip. I went into Norton and turned the Personal Firewall Off. Does that put me at risk for anything now? Also, my computer seems to be running kinda slow now. Is that related?

Well, its a start. We've established its Nortons firewall blocking the sites. Now then, i havent used Norton firewall for a while. Somewhere in the settings is a bit similar to the security bit in IE. Just change the settings in here, and you should be set.
