can't login

I have a Dell desktop (not sure what model or specs) thats used a family computer and just recently everytime someone tries to log in it will start and then automatically log out. I posted in the Desktop section of this site and got one reply who suggested it might be a common virus. Any suggestions on how I could fix this?
 
Boot into safe mode.
run msconfig
go to the startup tab of msconfig an screenshot all the checked boxes an post here if you can.
I would say its a simple script that logs off an adds to the startup
