Can't move iso file to USB stick

Hello,

I just downloaded a Windows 10 image file (Windows.iso) using the Windows Media Creation Tool (found here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10). I'd like to move it onto a USB stick but I'm getting this error message every time I try:



The strange thing is the file is only 4.45GB while the USB stick has 14.6GB free space.

Why is it saying the file is too large?

It is probably formatted in FAT32 which cannot take a single file larger than 4GB.

That being said, if you have the media creation tool, why not use it to write the iso. You don't actually want to just write the iso to a usb stick. It will not work.

Instead of selecting ISO, select USB flash drive and it will take care of it.

Also you probably want to use the USB writing feature of the media creation tool, just copy/pasting the iso image won't boot the system.

Yes, I figured this out. Initially, the creation tool was giving me the same error, but now that I converted the USB stick to NTFS, I will try the creation tool again.

I'd just burn it on there with RUFUS since you already have the ISO file. RUFUS is a lot faster than the media creation tool, or at least it was last time I used both.
