Can't open files after recovery !

i recovered my files after norton ghost screwed my HDD
now their sizes are ok
but they don't wanna open
i have .xls and .doc files
they don't wanna open

what's the problem !
and also i wanna mention that they were created with a different version of office
i have office 2003 sp2

Does Excel/Word open but give an error message or just nothing happens?
Was the version of office they were created with newer or older?

thats why i dont use "norton" product anymore. they screw stuff up. did for me, as i explained in the other thread you made.

it opens and gives me squares in word and empty cells in excel

they were created by an older version of office
