Can't open gparted

Hi, I'm trying to resize a partition as I have no space left on the 'c' half of my drive.
I have downloaded gparted onto a cd-rom but I can't work out how to open it.
Any ideas?

I don't really know what I'm doing to be honest - I have saved gparted on a cd-rom and when I put the cd in and double-click on 'gparted' it asks me which program I want to use to run it. That's where I'm stuck!

you have to pop the disk in and then restart the computer. if you're bios is set to boot from cd first, it will boot into gparted.

Tried that - nothing happened.
Thinking I may have downloaded the wrong version so have now downloaded the lastest one.
This one didn't promp me to burn it onto cd though so it is just sat on my desktop. I have downloaded Winzip which has allowed me to see the files but I can't work out how to run this either!

You need to save it as a .iso file. Downloading the program and just copying it over to a CD won't work, and you can't boot to it. In order to make it bootable, download a free program like DeepBurner and choose the 'Save as .iso' option. Restart when it's done and boot from the CD.
