Can't power up laptop?

I can't boot up my laptop at all. Help please?
Okay, long story short, I got a free used Toshiba 6100 and it won't boot up. It was connected to AC but that didn't help. All that turns on is a blinking orange LCD at the bottom. When I try to power it on, the greenish/yellowish LCD turns on, but the turns off and the orange starts to blink. There's no physical damage whatsoever (that I can see), but it is in good condition. I hope I can get it to work. Please, if you have any suggestions as to what the problem may be or what I can do to fix it, let me know. Again, it's not mine, it was given to my Dad by his friend, and he gave it to me. So there's no warranty or anything available. Thanks for the help, it's greatly appreciated. -Len-

I know. Mine does that a couple times too. Take your battery out. Leave it out for a little bit proply like 10 mins at max. Put it back in and there ya go.

i added you to messenger... most likely you'll have to take apart the computer far enough to see the power connector and the motherboard... we're looking for a bad solder, maybe a crack, burn, anything out of the ordinary. If found you may be able to fix it, if not... well its probably paperweight.
