Can't remove SSD from motherboard

I'd like to replace my SSD with a higher-capacity one, but I'm finding it impossible to detach it from the motherboard.

It looks like the below pic, and here is a link to the same model: https://www.cpumedics.com/samsung-m...2-2280-ngff-pcie-nvme-gen3x4-solid-state-ssd/

On the left there's normally a screw holding it in place, which I removed before taking the photo, so there's nothing blocking it on the left hand side any more. But it's very solidly stuck in to the socket/port on the right, I can't wiggle it even a little bit. It's a bit awkward to grip with my fingers, I was wondering about trying with pliers, but I'm afraid of damaging it.

Any tips? No idea if this is a common problem or how much force I should expect to use. It's not a PC I built myself, it was put together by the manufacturer, so it's possible there's something else holding it in place that I haven't noticed.
