cant see a difference

I hope you're not saying that a T1 line is faster than the average cable connection.

A T1 line is commercial not privately used. That runs at a faster speed like 768+kps over the residential 512kps. Those are strictly dedicated service lines without the same traffic seen with the usual ISPs.

and does anybody know why i have 2 let the videos buffer before i can watch them? instead of just watching it? is it just my internet speed?

It's not so much your own connection speed as it is their servers and the size of video files. Try downloading anything that are in the gigabytes not megs. Why do you think there are bit torrents available. Depending on the length and quality the buffer rate is there for data to catch up with previous data.

yeahh, i know that, but shouldnt i still see the pages loadng faster or w.e?

Not really, I picked up a 800mhz P3 from the dump and it was equally as fast in normal internet websites as my comptuer right now.

oo really? soo most internet speeds come form the RAM and internet speeds? or just the internet speed?
RAM matters, to a certain extent. You probably wont see loading speed difference between a computer with 1 gig of ram to 4 gigs.

It buffers so the video won't just stop everytime your internet can't keep in pace with the video. But generally if you have a good connection, buffering takes only a few seconds.

and would the Cache have anything 2 do with this? it's 128KB...

128kb L2 cache? That's not alot, my cpu has 512k, C2D's have 4mb shared.

no... internet wont be faster unless you have fast internet... load up a game and you'll see a slight difference

yeahh, soo since my 1.8GHZ was 128KB also, thats why i cant see a difference? cause both are 128KB?

No thats not why. As I said before, If you look at framerates in games, you'll notice a difference. As well as cpu intensive apps, but not in every day tasks such as internet browsing.

Well... actully some Cable is better then some T3 lines!

some FIOS in NY is 50/25
FIOS technically isnt cable as far as I know. Cable is a shared bandwith, where you can get as high as a certain speed, it fluxuates depending on how many people are on in the area. FIOS, everytime I have ran a speed test, whether it was 7am, 5pm, or 3am, I get the same results everytime. 10xxxkbps down and 18xxkbps up.

Thats a 10/2 line gonna be upgrading to the 20/5 line soon

i consider it cable... lol...

lol fios uses a different line. When we had it installed, the guy had to drill holes in the basement and ran a cable from outside right into your house. Then installed this backup battery and stuff. Yeah different stuff.

Run superpi and you'll see a difference.

whay you're paying for with t3 is a guarenteed connection, and the upload(mainly upload)

while my cable has the awesome download of over 6 megs, it's upload is 1/3 a meg. i would prefer t1 to my connection just for that 1 1/2 meg upload.

upload is when you are sending data right?

The max in London now is comming up to 24Mb/s on DSL:D Pitty live in somerset.

I have that chip. 2.8 Celeron. Does the job for my lappy, mine is just let down by the memory :(.
