Can't See DVD Drives

Hey All,
I just put a new DVDRW drive into my computer and made all of the correct connections. When I boot up the drive lights up and I can load disks into it with no problem. The problem I do have is that the drive is not showing up in My Computer. When I right click - properties on my computer it says that it is insalled and ready to use but I can't for the life of me get it to show up as a dsik drive that I can use. Any ideas?

do you have 2 drives? a cd and a dvd drive? i think i had a simliar problem i had a cd drive and then installed a dvd-rw and i had no power in both and they wernt Recognised either so i just un connected my cd drive and just used my dvd-rw, does that make sense? try and just connect the dvd-rw and see if its Recognised? its not really sorting the probs cos you only have one drive not 2. if im wrong let me know.
