I currently restored my computer. I have a wd80 ide hdd and a wd250 ide hdd. The 80gig has the operating system on it. I have the cables hookd up so the 80 is master and the 250 is slave. I have rearranged them to other ways as well but for some reason. When I try to access it while on the computer it doesn't show up. Something interesting is that is does show up in the Device Manager. Please help me.

I had this problem with my thumb drive...

All I did was in the device manager was enable it so it shows up in my computer... I can't recall exactly how to do it, but its within the options somewhere there.

I'll go do some research and try to figure it out for ya.

I know where that is I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling the driver didn't work. I didn't try to disable it and enable it. Ill get back to you... Well I can try now lol... One sec....
Nope, Didn't do anything. Anyone else please chim in thanks.

How do I look in bios? Do you mean when you turn computer on and have to push delete to get into setup and stuff? If so it does show up there and I have switched it around and stuff trying to get it to show but anyway I put it it doesn't show up.

Yeah, Control panel, find device manager and see if its there.

Did you read the post? First thing I stated about it was that it did show up in there.

If you push delete on start up you will get into bios, push "enter" on the first highlighted section and it should show you your drives, if your h/d is not showing push down to go where is says " NONE " and push "enter" then "enter" again, this should do a search for any hardware attached, if it doesnt find the drive push " ESC " to come out of that one, then go to each one in turn until you hopefully find it, if you do, push F10 and then "enter" but if bios doesnt find it then it wont work on your pc

I did all that I went into bios and it is shown there. I switched it from being the first driver loaded to the second and back once again. It does show up in bios.

I did move the jumpers around on all of them. I used Master/Slave with the two that didnt work so I switched them around Slave/Master. That didn't work So I put them on CS (cable select) Got the one with Windows on Master and the other on Slave. And still nothing.

It does still show up in device manager and in bios and in the loading screen. Im very confused.

Any other help would be appreciated. Thanks

Ah yes, I've heard of that problem before. You'll need to go to Disk Management and do something... It'll be detected there.
