Can't See Temps

I have a X2 4400+ AMD dual core but when I run CPU Temp or Any other program I get 6-10c on each core.
Now I know this isn't right because BIOS shows it higher at boot up.

The issue I am having is I need to know what my temps are due to gaming I fear my heat sink might be getting to hot which its not over clocked and it has the stock but if its over heating then there is a problem I need to figure out before it becomes summer over here.

The heat sink is almost boarder line to hot I set smart CPU fan to turn my PC off should it get about 60c which I am sure its 50c or higher.

PC specs are
Windows XP
7600GT 256mb GPU
2.3ghz X2 4400+ CPU
2gb G-Skill 6400 DDR2 Memory
VX450wat Corsair PSU
ECS A780GM-A Motherboard

If software isn't giving you the correct temp which it obviously isn't and you can't keep going into the bios, get yourself a hardware temperature display/fan controller.

I'd recommend a Scythe Kama Meter. It comes with 4 temperature probes and adjustment for 4 fans although you could link some of those together to control more.

I don't know where you are but you seem to be able to buy them in any country.
