Can't see wireless networks

I have two PC's with the same wireless NIC card in them and I can't get the one to work. The computer is a Dell Optiplex GX 260. The wireless NIC card is a Netopia USB adapter. Yes, the drivers are instilled. There is even a message saying, "Wireless networks detected", but then I go to "view wireless networks" it tells me I need to turn on my wireless switch. This is a desktop PC......there is NO wireless switch. Oh and yes, it has USB 2.0 in the PC.

Compatible issues maybe?

Any suggestions?

Do you have a 3rd party program installed that you may not know about? They will just disable the windows wireless configuration.

No third party. I am using windows wireless. The disk that came with the wirless card was just the drivers.

Are you sure there isn't one you don't know about? Are you sure the card is compatible with the router? Like, the router isn't broadcasting N, and the card isn't G?

I am sure. All the hardware (Wireless Router, Wireless NIC...etc) was provided by AT&T. Even there own technician could not get this PC to connect. The router is boardcasting G. Like I said the other PC that I have in the house is connected just fine.

See if there is a new driver available and try that first. If not, I would think you have a bad wireless adapter.

OK I got it!

Always do updates!!! As soon as I updated the computer the wireless worked just fine.

Thanks guys,
