Hello. I have a Gateway MT3707 laptop that won't boot past the Vista Welcome screen, the one right before it loads your desktop. I decided to instal nod32, as my Trend Micro subscription gave up. I had Works opened with a paper that I was typing (luckily saved) while nod32 was installing. It started installing, and it wouldn't respond. I tried to save the paper again, close the paper, close the nod32 setup, and even shut the computer down, but everything froze up (this all happened in a 15 to 20 minute period). So, I held the power button down and it shut down. When I rebooted, it wouldn't get past the Welcome screen. I booted in safe mode, got the desktop, ran a spyware/virus scan with Spy Sweeper and an adware scan with Adaware, but nothing found that could fix anything.
Any ideas on what could be wrong? Sorry if I didn't describe enough or it I'm not making any sense..... it's been a long three days. I appreciate your help.
