Can't un-tick a page

When I go to the upper right of the page when I use the curser on the X , the page remains. Also the slash and box to minimize doesn't work. I can get out of the page by clicking on the dot of the tab at the top of the window. Task Manager also works.
 
What browser? Have you tried resetting it back to defaults? If you are using a browser that uses tabs instead of windows then when you try to click on the x, then you'll get a message asking if you want to close all tabs. It's possible that message is behind all other windows.
 
Did you totally uninstall it first and then reboot the machine before installing it again? You just can't do a reinstall over the top of it as it will still have the same issues. Is it just firefox? have you tested other browsers? I can only assume you have installed a firefox addon that is causing this.
