Cant upload on youtube

I am trying to upload a 1.2 G avi video file onto youtube. The youtube upload progress bar goes all the way to 100% and then freezes. About 20 min. later an error message pops up and says, "Upload failed, Unknown error"

I tried using youtube's advanced uploader but youtube says that java isn’t installed on my computer or java isn’t activated. I download the latest version from the java website but I cant even find where it is on my computer. Its not under programs. When I tried to download it again the java site recognizes that it is already on my computer. I can’t find where it is though.

I am using Dell latitude with win xp and a sprint air card for internet connecting.

Any ideas as to why I cant upload on youtube?

You don't need to find where Java is. Your browser should automatically detect and enable it.

The enable java box was checked when I looked under the advanced tab of internet options, youtube still says I need java, even after a restart. the pop up blocker set to off
