I just bought a new 17" LG monitor and i formatted my pc so it's a clean slate, nothing but xp and some basic programs such as adobe reader, photoshop, ms office.

i went to youtube to watch waka-waka but the weird thing is when i pushed the full screen mode the screen just went all white. i pressed esc and the vid looked just fine, i pushed the full screen mode again and the same thing happened. i then installed adobe flash player (h ttp://w ww dot adobe dot com/support/flashplayer/downloads dot html#fp10) and java (h ttp://w ww dot java dot com/en/download/index dot jsp) but the problem just won't go away.

what's wrong? can someone help me, please?

trillion thanks.

Have you tried other videos and have you tried other full-screen video websites? It would be better if you could isolate the problem to a browser or you tube in general. I doubt that you would come across such a large failure from a brand new monitor. Probably more to the story.

@Concordedly
I tried other streaming sites with full screen capability but it's the same.

@Ultranothing
I had them installed.

@Jackster22
did that...

thanks for the help guys.

I browsed the net for answers and apparently the problem was as simple as turning off the hardware acceleration. i don't know the geek side of it but it solved my problem. to those of you who have the same problem.... just right-click on youtube vid and turn off the hardware acceleration (at least this solved my problem).
