Caps-Lock

So my dog spilled a glass of juice on my computer the other day, and suddenly my Caps-Lock stopped working. The other buttons that were spilled on, was not injured. But when I tried turning Caps-Lock on with my screen keyboard; the light turned on and the Caps-Lock worked. I don't know if I should take it to a shop and let them rape my wallet before I've heard if any of you may know what's happend to my poor Caps-Lock. I've opened it and looked, but everything seems fine. The button works, but it won't turn on. Maybe a circuit has broken? Please respond asap :)

Should I? The rest of the keys work like a charm, but the caps-lock is not functioning. Do you think it's totally destroyed, and can not be fixed? In that case I will replace the keyboard. Thank you for replying!

Chances are you got liquid down on the circuit board. The easiest thing to do would be to replace it. You can try taking the keyboard apart and cleaning it up but I doubt it will work

Duly noted. I've taken off the caps-lock button and checked, I did'nt see anything out of the ordinary. But I am not a "genious" when it comes to key-boards so I am not really sure. I guess I'll replace it. Again, thank you for replying.

If you have just looked from above that is not particularly helpful unless you can get down to the actual contact. If it's the type with a carbon button that presses on to a circuit board, there must be no contamination on the button. Some keyboards have the carbon contact under an overall membrane which is less susceptible to spillage. Taking a keyboard apart may result in hours of fun trying to get it together again. Good for long Winter evenings.

The effects of contamination is usually seen in TV remotes where oil in the silicone rubber is squeezed out of the rubber by repeated pressing on to the carbon.

Like anyone else has said if its that much of a problem just replace the keyboard, Besides caps-locks is a key you can go without its not like your spacebar doesn't work
