Capture Card Problems

Hey all

I have just brought a new capture card and I am having some trouble capturing.

No matter WHAT program I am using when I start to capture it just freezes on me...some times it will start to capture then when I go to stop it....it just freezes my entire computer and I have to restart...Does anyone have ANY ideas for me?

Ummm it is this USB 2.0 Video Capture Adapter thing....

However, I had the same problem sometimes with my old capture card which leads me to think it might be something with my computer

First install the newest drivers for the capture device and the mobo.
Capturing is quite memory-consuming, so check your RAM too.
 
Yup.... I have updated the newst drivers....and what is a mobo??!

How do I check on my RAM. I know I have 512 but how do I check whether it is becoming a problem?
