Capture Cards

I'm new to this. I want to know what capture cards are and how they work. Also, I want to know what else you need to make it work. I want to record stuff directly from my Xbox to the computer and I've heard this is what you use. I think it feeds the game directly while you're playing it to the computer and records it. If you could explain exactly what it is and how to hook it up I'd greatly appreciate it.

Well a capture card can be hooked up by opening your pc and installing in a slot on the motehrboard, or it can be through the usb port. The capture card turns your pc into a tv, and allows you to plug a coax or cable into the back of your computer. If you have the correct cord for the xbox you can plug it right into the tv tuner, and record with the software provided by the manufacterer. Prices are from $75-$150 average.
