My family just got a nice desktop a little while ago and I got an 8800 gts for it. The motherboard has a pci-express slot and all that but the card literally doesn't fit because of the cpu heatsink and the big wire that gives the motherboard power. Even if there wasn't a big card in it, any pci-express card wouldnt fit. It doesn't make sense that they would make a pci-express slot and have no room. Is there anything i can do about this? Like is there a adapter that would make the card fit? Or maybe an adapter to make a pci slot a pci-express slot? I wouldn't think so but I thought I'd put it out there. By the way, the motherboard is:

I can see how you might run into trouble with an 8800GTS, but it looks like a less massive card would fit just fine. And no, there are no adapters that could help you... you need either a different motherboard or a different card. Also, there is no way the power supply that came with your Gateway is going to power an 8800GTS.
