i have a choice of card manufacturers...for an RMA.

i'm not sure if i have posted this before but i'm going to again...

what brand would you guys get and why? I see no real difference, but some people do. :P

XFX, eVGA, PNY, MSI, Chaintech.

which one?!?

Depends on the card but as a general rule they will use the reference design (or change the HSF), so they will be very similar.

aye, that's been my observation. i think i'm not going to deal with anything other than the reference board.

my question was mainly if there was any difference in the manufacturers that dealt with the reference board, and if so, why.

Basically they just like to put their own stamp on the cooler, XFX sometimes pre-overclocks a version their card. Sometimes they will put on higher rated RAM so you can overclock more.

no you can't spell :P that is why the powers that be invented the edit button (also you don't need to post saying you can't spell, we can all clearly see it :D)
sapfire, and maye even powercolor.
these are ATi brands, the brands listed by Gimulus suggest he is looking at nVidia cards.

XFX would indeed be a fine choice. I also like evga as I own one and have not had a problem with the product.

Indeedy also Saphire is a great company to go with if you are looking at ATi cards. My wife has a Saphire 9600pro in her rig and it's performed wonderfully. As mentioned by Cromewell already Saphire only has ATi based cards.
