Card temps

Alright so it says around 37-39 C ambient and around a 42 C GPU core temp. Errr I think thats a bit too high, any suggestions what to do? if it even is high anyways.

I think those temps are fine - my 6600GT currently has a core temp of 49 C without any problems. What card do you have?

ok well PCwizard is telling me that GPU is 57C(havent seen it below 50C:confused: ) my cpu is around 35C-45C is that good? and i have an 80mm fan in the front and side, and a 120mm fan in the back and the PSU has a 120mm fan and of course thats in the back...where else can i look up temps
btw the case is saying that my temp inside is 29C......

Yea i have had my 9550 for about 2 years now. It is always running at 40(c) and i have not had one problem. Usually overheating for a video card is about 60(c) and a cpu is about 55(c). Dont worry about it at all.

i consider gpu's to be different beasts than cpu's. my 6600gt was running at 90 degrees load a little while ago, i managed to cure that by removing the heatsink, cleaning all the dust away, removing the old thermal compound and reseating the heatsink with arctic silver 5. reduced my temps by 20 degrees.
your temperatures are perfectly fine, in fact my idle gpu temp isn't far off that.

Oh ok, then Im just getting to worried then. Oh, my card is a PNY 6600GT. Also I would like to know what range do bad temps start at then?

Sorry but if you meant that as a general statement then it's way off.

You'll have a hard time getting a high end GPU below 60c at full load.

My 68GT is pushing 75-78c during extreme load (must hit 137c before it's automatically throttled). Sure some people may have better cooling but 60c is very very far from overheating.

90*C?!?!?! How did it not blow up???

it was a little concerning, i reseated the heatsink and cleaned everything off and knocked 20 degrees of the temperature. as tweaker said it'll throttle back at 127 degrees so i wasn't that bothered but i do prefer to have my temps lower if possible

Why would it when the slowdown threshold is 127c.

GPU's is not like CPU's temp vise.

I am sort of noticing that....it just sounds really bad because I am used to having a top temp of like 80* for CPUs

GPU: 29°C idle 41°C full load
CPU: 43°C right now

my cpu was 62°C idle when the vcore was 1.80V, now the vcore is 1.50V

True, after i posted that i realized what i said. But 127(c)?!?!??!?! Bust out the eggs and a spatcula(spell check)
