I was just wondering what everyone on here does for a living. Who all works with computers as a career and/or has a degree in computers (IT, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, etc.)? Also, what does everyone do as a part of their job. I am currently studying to become an electrical engineer and may do some sort of code writing/reading position when I graduate.

I'm only 13, but I'm studying server management, networking and administration courses. Along with C++ pogramming, MMO server managament and game design.

When I leave school, I hope to achieve my Network+, Server+ and A+ degrees from CompTIA.

I hope to either become a networking programmer for various games (mainly MMO's), or a network administrator, and setting up my own dedicated server company, along with game servers etc.

I work in the Service & Support Dept. of a company that imports, manufactures & sells Medical Equipment.

I onsite & workshop repair, maintain, install, commision of the equipment we sell and also phone support.
Equipment ranges from ECGs, Defibrilators, spirometers, Pulsed Light & Laser Hair Removal & Pigmented lesion removal, up to Hemodynamic Patient Monitoring systems & Patient Digital Imaging & Database Storage Systems.

Finished School 1999.
Cert.III - Electrotechnology Instrumentation & Control (Trade).

I really have to think of something cool to say when i die.

I read a quote by walter de la mare, on his death bed he said
"Too late for fruit, too soon for flowers."

But I study game design and I am currently working on a project at the moment

Well, I'll continue going with this thread as opposed to the previous thread since this one's a little more recent...

Anyway, I actually work in retail for OfficeMax here in Michigan and have graduated from college with a BA in Social Studies Composite for Secondary Education (teaching high school Social Studies). But, due to a career change in college, I am going back to school in the fall after a year off for a College Student Administration degree in College Student Affairs (Master's level). Basically, this will allow me to be Director of Student Activities (what I really want to do), and also further on Dean of Housing, Dean of Students and maybe one day President of a College/University (UofM??? :))

As far as computers go, I had a few basic classes on programming (Java and C++) in college. Other than that, I worked on the college website for the Residential Life department while I was there and everything that I know has pretty much been from messing with computers, reading about them, or by talking with other computer geeks like myself :). So, computers is definitely more of a hobby for me, but I multiple times came very close to becoming a Graphical Engineer. It's always been my dream to work at ILM since I was a little kid. But, I love working with people and interacting with others from various different places, part of the reason why I also absolutely love being involved in this forum: get to help people and interact with people from all over the world! :)

Sorry for the long post, but I'm in a good mood, and tend to be a little exuberant at times! ;)
