i have 8 fans(antec 900) and all highest speeds. and the 4870 card @ 60% is 100 times louder with a screeching sound.

its the ear peircing screeching i dont like

Yeah, its just the HD4870 cooler thats loud, the other fans I dont hear. I figued if I got a new fan for the card, id just throw one in for the pcu as well. Its pretty cheap. And then 1-3 more case fans.

Does my airflow look good? I have the same setup above bring air in from the 5.25' drives, into the Heatsink, and out the rear exhaust and psu fan.

I still need to order a few case fans though. Some of the ones posted with 5-20db looked nice and quiet, but only moved 20-30cfm. Is there a comparable chart for amount of air being pushed? Much like we can see that 30db is whisper quiet at a library, 85db is driving in the city. Etc..

Ill order the fans when I order my new monitor this or next week.

Nice. Those were a few that I looked at before. I just need to save up $250-$200 and ill buy a new monitor and throw a few of the fans in the cart as well.

I just got home from work 20moins ago, and 10mins ago I got the vf1000 and cnps9700.

Picture will be up later tomorrow cause I need to let heatsinks cure and all that. The 9700 is going to be a tight fit, but it looks worth it.

Gpu - 35c at idle. 42c during gaming. Crysis, GRID, and CoD4 are the main ones I play.

ill check my pcu temps soon. I need to go into the bios first and mess with some of my fan controls now that I have the fan controls that came with the zalman fans.

Really good difference from the pcu. At idle im at 28-30c. Havent ran it at full load yet. Im really happy with these two fans. Better than the stock coolers, and I cant here them at all.

Thanks for all the help guys. Mid nextweek ill be able to order the case fans (just bought a 22" monitor) and ill be all set.

reviews say theya re quiet, pus a reasonable amount of air, and are reliable.

The others I saw showed that their db rating was wrong, and that the fans are actually really loud, and most of them craped out pretty shortly.

So these ones look better than the silenx and sycth ones. If it goes above 20db, then its not an option for me.

I think these ones are going to work well and be fine. If not, ill send them back, or use them in another project. My friends bass amp overheats during our shows soemtiems, so adding another fan in his bass head would be fun, and my amp head as a huge heatsink, but no fan, so I can add a fan into there. Noise doesnt amter for those haha.

Good thing fans are cheap. Work for one day, go out and can buy 20 different fans.
