Ok, so I'm getting ready for my new build. As you can see in my sig, I'm going C2D. I want a new case, though, as my Antec case has lasted quite well but has its scratches, and shortcomings. Anyways, here's my plan:
Enermax Chakra case: Clicky. 25cm side fan, hard drive bays that face the side, not front to back, nice and big, 5 5.25 externals, and a 120mm mount front and rear.
That, combined with: Clicky. 2 of these 120mm fans pushing air, one front intake, one rear exhaust.
Now...the part I really want input on.
I want to run This (Scythe 120mm bay fan that installs in place of 3 external 5.25" pays) in the lowermost 3 5.25" bays of the case. Then, I want to use the Artic Freezer 7 Pro on the C2D. Basically, I want to draw a straight line, the Scythe bay fan intaking, the cool air from it goin straight into the processor's heatsink, then the freezer 7's fan on the other side sucking the air through the heatsink fins, and blowing it straight at the exhaust fan, which would then obviously blow it all straight out of the case.
My question is, is this worth the time and thought to try? Will it work like I think it will? Will the 25cm fan need to be intaking or exhausting? Will that big fan mess up the "air flow" I'm looking at trying to get going in the case?
Btw, I'm pretty much ready to order the case and such, with the other components following soon.
