Case LEDs Attracting Moths... Yep...

I leave my windows open at night for fresh air, and as you probably guessed, moths easily get into my house. I have noticed that the moths are being attracted by the bright blue GLOW coming from my gaming PC case, and I have had to pull moths out of my fans and un-stick dead moths from my case. Is there a way I could dim/disable my MOBO and FAN lights to stop this?

I have screens, but they are old and have holes here and there. I also don't want to power down the PC at night because most of my recordings I make with my PCI TV tuner are around 2-4AM.

You have some of the stupidest problems. Maybe tape up your screens or patch them?

Is there a way to turn off the LEDs in the fans? I have 4 CoolerMaster SickleFlows and 1 AeroCool Shark in my case.

If you use Speedfan and put the Sickleflows on a low speed the LED's will turn off. Worked for me in my old PC, but the fans must be connected to your motherboard to use in Speedfan.

Forgot the exact percentage to slow them down to but start at about 20% or so.

idk about the AeroCool Shark

Aside from replacing the fans, which is the easiest option, you can probably just cut the power wire going to the LEDs. I havent owned an LED fan in years, but the ones I did own had the power strip that went around on the outside of the fan of which the LEDs were connected to.

Wow. Helpful.

To answer the OP's question, insects are attracted to UV and blue spectrum. So you have two choices apart from getting new screen or fans; get some red cellophane and put it on your computer to alter the spectrum or disconnect the LED.
