hi

i have recently brought 2 sets of cold cathode lights and wired them up to a switch, the problem is that sometimes when i switch them on my computer freezes, is this because of to much power consumption or is there something wrong

cheers

its a 400w power supply, asus mobo, lg cd writer, 2 hard drives 1x 20gb 1x 160 gb and a rage 128 pro graphics card, not the best of systems but im working on it lol

Did you buy the cathode kit or buy two cathodes and wire them yourself?

I find it weird that your computer would freeze when you turn them on and off. That is not normal. Cathodes draw very little power.

Worst case is you either have:
1: Shotty inverters for the cathodes
or
2: Your power supply is not strong enough for them.

I'm leaning towards number 1 though.

i think it is ur power supplier problem. cos to be honest led doesn't took much power. So there is no way that your pc can be freeze only for 2 led.

i will better suggest you to check your power supplier, else your some other hard ware can be effected too.
