Case missing three motherboard mounting holes.

Hello, i have just attempted to put a motherboard into a case and there three furthest holes and brass standoffs to the right missing. its an ATX board and case but there are no screw mounts or anywhere to mount the screws in the three furthest places to the right.

All the other mounts are intact, will it affect anything if I leave these three holes and not screw the motherboard onto them?

quick replies appreciated.

if you don't use the stand-offs, you will have a high chance of shorting-out your motherboard and your system won't even power on.

stand-offs usually comes with the case if you buy a new case.

EDIT: just re-read your post, are you saying that there are no hole to screw the stand-offs in?

I have just looked again and noticed that the two end ones, (top and bottom) do not need to be screwed in. But there is a third hole in the motherboard in the middle to the right and there is no hole to screw a standoff into the case.

i was thinking maybe if i drill a small hole and force the brass standoff into the case then i can mount it correctly with all screws in.

ps i have used the red washer thingys inbetween the screws and the brass standoffs, should I?

how many screws are in as of now?

I don't think you need to use all of the brass stand-offs that are provided. As long as your motherboard is stable in the case, you should be fine. As different motherboard have different hole placement, the case company will only make holes at those common places.
