I'm building a new gaming computer (my 3rd) and I'm having a couple of issues on picking out parts. I have most of the computer picked out already, including the following specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT UD5P
Proc: AMD Phenom II x4 955, 3.2 GHz Quad-Core
RAM: 4x Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1333 MHz 2GB sticks (8GB total, dual-channel)
HD1: WD Velociraptor 10k RPM 300GB HD
HD2: WD Caviar Black 7200RPM 1TB HD
Optical Drive: Pioneer Black 8x Blu-Ray Burner
Video Card: Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon HD 4870 2 GB 256-bit DDR5
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion
Obviously I need a PSU that can power those parts, and a case that can hold them. I'm looking at a Cooler Master UCP 900W PSU, and can't really find a case I like (closest is a Rosewill Conquerer, but I've heard too many negative comments about the company).
From what I can tell, I need a PSU of at least 650W (probably more, which is why I jumped to 900), that has 4+ SATA power cables, a 20 or 20+4 pin connector, and at least 2 6 and/or 6+2 pin connectors. I want a durable supply (I've let out the magic blue smoke in the past) that hopefully won't break the bank. I have a Cooler Master in my current system and it works great, but I've heard a few mixed reviews.
As far as a case goes, I need one that's mid-tower (or maybe slightly bigger) size that will fit the parts I need (particularly worried about the GPU, as higher-end video cards tend to be big). I like the clear case (lights are cool, but not really necessary) that comes with fans already, and I like the front USB/audio/etc ports to be on the very front of the top-side of the computer, as I keep my computer on the floor; although if they're farther back that's okay (as long as they're on top). The front-door is cool, but less necessary. I would like to keep the price around $50, but I am willing to spend up to $100 if necessary. Like I said, the Rosewill Conquerer was the closest to what I wanted, but I've not heard of them to be a reputable company, and the Thermaltake Tsunami was close - except I heard it was hard to fit some things into (scaring me with the video card I picked out).
Put a bit more concisely -
Needs: Mid-Tower (or slightly larger) Size, top-mounted interface ports, clear side
Wants: Interface ports near front, front-side door
Price: Up to $100
Any help would be great, especially on the case.
