Case question

What is the makes a case a full size as oppose to a mid size? Im talking measurements here not the obivious, ones bigger than the other!

It is just that. Assuming one is mid ATx the other is full, both will support all ATX boards, but the full size is much larger, so you can fit more stuff in there. There are more hard drive bays, more optical media bays, room for better cable management, for water cooling, more space to work in.

As to if they can have different components, other than being able to fit a bigger water cooling setup into a full size case, there isn't a whole lot of difference

A quick lookup shows these general measurements.
Tower cases come in mini-tower, mid-tower, and big-tower/full-tower sizes. Full tower cases are typically 22 inches or more in height and intended to stand on the floor.... Midtower cases are smaller, about 18" high with two to four external bays. A minitower case will typically have only one or two external bays and stand from 14" to 16" tall.

The best option is a full tower case. It provides you with more room for upgrading components. If space is restricted, the mid tower case is the best option. Use the small tower if you have limited space.
