Cat on keyboard

I have an Acer Aspire 3000 notebook that has been working fine. Tonight the cat walked across the keyboard and the mouse will not move anymore. Tried rebooting and restored to an earlier date but doesn't help. Arrow is on center of the screen and will not move. Any advce. Thanks in advance.

Did the cat somehow disable the touchpad? Some laptops have a button or switch that disables it. Can you use an external mouse?
 
A cat just walking across the laptop shouldn't harm anything. Now if it jumped, scratched off, or something like that, we might have a problem. But just to walk across shouldn't damage anything.

Would you be willing to pop it open and check the wires/ribbons are securly attached?
 
Fixed

He just walked across while the wife was using the computer. Just found out he disabled the touchpad. Must have stepped on the right combination of keys. Got it enabled and it's working fine. Thanks for the help.
