CCleaner...

I use mine about every two months. When ever i have time. When im cleaning house on the computer and defragging etc. No reason. keeping up.

Should run it once a week if you are online a lot, if not once every 2 weeks would be sufficient.

I never run ccleaners Registry tool, but I use the File Cleaner about once a week.

So should I just run the file cleaner like User0one suggested?

Might as well run the reg cleaner as well.

While yes I can understand the fear of running abrasive and abusive registry tools, Ccleaners is mild, only looking of "file not founds" and other simple repairs that speed up system performance while freeing up hdd space.

I've used C cleaner for the past 3 years run it once a week and never had a problem with viruses or a slow system. I definitely recommend this program :)

CCleaner is a must-have weapon against system slowdowns, tracking cookies, and the multitudinous debris that can clutter your computer. Highly recommended !!

I've run ccleaner on various machines over the years and have never noticed any difference before/after so I'm not a big fan. I think it is highly over rated just like defragging.

It's not just about speeding it up. It can also remove unnecessary files. I haven't run it for ages and this thread reminded me to do so, just removed 10GB! of stuff lol

10G of disk space is nothing with today's large drives, still highly over rated! You could remove that 10G of stuff without the use of ccleaner.

Ccleaner is a one click method and only takes a few seconds compared to manually finding the entries to delete them which could take hours. Why waste your precious time?

Yeah, without using CCleaner, manually finding those files would have been a pain. I didn't even know they were there before! And 10GB can be a lot when your HDD is nearly full! :)
