CD Issues

I just succesfully wiped everything from my PC and started again, but now a perticular CD wont run. Its a DVDrom PACKARD BELL Software Library, I got from a friend who tells me it has Civ III on, after he lost my mine.
It shows up in My Computer and I can explore it, but it wont actually run.
Any ideas?

do you mean the autorun wont work? have you tried running the setup.exe file on its own

I double click the icon in My Computer, and I can hear the CD spinning, but nothing happens on screen.
If I explore the CD most of the files are in formats I can't open-like '000 file', or 'VC4 file', but some I can use.
There is an AUTORUN icon, which when I click I get;
"Run time error #######, Automation Error, The system cannot find the file specified"

There is a setup icon, but it is instead a "CD Integrity Checker", which you have to type a number (printed on the CD) for. As far as I can tell it does nothing else.
There is a file called CRC95 which brings a box up telling me what some commands do, like /n: etc. Then there are just 3 TXT files.

So I cant see a specific Setup file to use. Hmmm.
Going to try putting the number in and see what happens.

I just set it off verifying, and it is showing me a screen where a blue bar goes across counting 1-100% through each file on the CD.

have you ever used this cd before, oh and is it a cd or a dvd.

Did you install the most upto date driver for you cd/dvd drive (shouldn't really mater but worth a try)

Right, I think it's a DVDRom, since it says that on the disk. Sorry, I call all disk's CD's.

And no, I havnt run it before, except before I wiped my computer when it did the same thing.

ok u knoe wat else u can do? just go to the manufactuers site, and download the drivers for it. thats wat i do when cds dont work

Please check. For the most part, OEMs dont ship DVDs unless its for complete software packages.
