CD Repair

I have 2 CDs for the ps1 and ps2 that have scratches that prevent them from being played. Chrono Cross just has a few light scratches but it freezes in the middle of a cinimatic so I cant play it. The other game is The Sims for ps2. It has a heavy scratch which I dont know if it can be repaired. I cant afford a CD doctor and wanna fix my discs. If anyone knows any way that I might be able to fix them I'd be grateful. I read once that you could use peterolium jelly. does anyone know if that works? Thanks.

There is something that can fix the scratches up......I think it's called a wizz disk...There is one at my local video shop it lightly scratches off the top layer of the cd and gets rid of the scratches :) (I THINK IT'S CALLED THE WIZZ DISK)
