I assume you have tried the botton on the front, have you tried ejecting from "my computer" right click on you cd icon and press eject.

Have you tried rebooting?

Does it make any noise when you try too eject?

There is often a manual override for ejecting a cd, it looks like a tiny little hole on the front which you push in with a pin.

Yes i have tried to eject the cd through my computer, and i have tried to ject it with the manual override (the little hole at the front).

When you asked about if it makes a sound when you try and eject it, yes it does, it makes a little hissing sound as though it is going to eject but is does not.

When you said "Have you tried rebooting?" What do you mean by that, do mean reboot the computer or the drive (how do you reboot a CD Drive).

Did you manage to get the drive open with maual override. If that didnt work then your drive is well an truely f**ked, as i suspect it maybe.

It could be catching on the opening cog, or the belt could even be slipping or even snapped. In any case there is little you can do without openig the thing, which although not impossible is bloody tricky.

Have you tried pulling all cables out and then reconnecting them (i know its a crap poin t to make but it worked on a different forum)

The hammer method sounds like it will work... Needed 1 Hammer. Hit cdrom until all pentupanger has been released.

and I have tried to ject it with the manual override (the little hole at the front).
And that doesnt work?

Sounds like something is caught on the inside ... happens from time to time ... turn it off, bust out the screwdriver :)
