Hey,

I am going to be purchasing a computer very soon and I've heard a lot of bad things about getting a Celeron processor.

Im going to be needing a computer for basic business needs; websurfing, writing in notepad, surfing the web, listening to music, probably dvds as well.

My question... are Celerons all that bad? and which would you go with out of a Celeron 2.8 GHz or a Pentium 1.5 Ghz

Thanks!

A Celeron would be fine for tasks you've listed, but you should also look into an AMD Athlon... much better, and much cheaper than the P4.

If you would get a celeron, get a celeron D. I have one, and it should do just fine for the tasks you mentioned. Also, as [tab] has mentioned, A64's are also something to ook into, but cele-d's are usually cheaper.

Dude, that was posted in 2004. Stop bumping such old threads.
