Celeron D or Celeron??

hello every1,

im purchasing a new computer, and im intending to save money by buying a celeron processor. could any1 plz tell me the advantages of Celeron D over Celeron? all i understand is that D has double cache memory. does that make much of a difference?

yes, the celeron d is built on the prescott p4 archetecture and is far superior, along with a bump up of the fsb

sorry for being so clueless, but what's fsb? more specifically, does it really make much of a difference? note: this is aimed to be a "softcore" gaming computer, playing games like hitman 3, but not as crazy as battlefield 2.

fsb=front side bus, it's the speed that your processor "talks" with your memory. And yes double the cache makes a difference.

thats like how fast the data try from the memory/mobo to the cpu or something
