celeron or pentium?

It is and it isn't. It's a celeron made for notebooks but it isn't a celeron-m. It's the celeron that is a step down from the pentium 4 m (not the pentium m). However the celeron in that lappy (it's a mobile intel celeron) doesn't have any low voltage technologies or anything fancy like that.

see this is what confuses me...all the different Intel chips for laptops (pentium 4-M, pentium 4, pentium m, celeron, celeron m etc...), all the mis-labeling, and i still don't know which is faster. probably Why i like AMD, much less confusing names for me.

Well AMD is confusing in there own right. Intel is changing to a standardized method of naming while AMD has buggered theres real good. There are 3 (at least) different Athlon 64 3200+s. Pentium 4-M is slower than the Pentium M, Mobile Celeron is slower than the Celeron M (although for both these the clock speed suggests otherwise)
