no way, p4's are great for pretty much any use, and they are also good for gaming, amd are better, but you can still play games at highest settings. A 600Mhz celeron can do the stuff u just listed. lol

Both chips suck to begin with. THe celeron D really sucks, and the duron really sucks also. So you won't notice any difference between the two
