celeron processers are cheap. Why is this? are they bad performers with lots of hang ups? what is you opionions?
 
They dont have a maths processing chip or something like that so the performance is fairly bad for anything other than word processing, surfing the web and other low power tasks.
 
They are cheap because they are budget processors, they dont perform as well as the higher priced Pentium's or Core 2 Duo's.

Untrue, if you're comparing a Celeron (D) to a Pentium (4), then the only differences that make it a worse performer is it's very low amount of cache, and slow FSB, it also didnt have HT.

they are budget processors with a lot less cache than higher end processors. they are pretty much built a lot cheaper than the higher end processors. they typically don't perform very well.
 
I have a Celeron processor and it SUCKS big time, while my ram makes up for it, i have 1GB + 512MB ram
 
I would advise getting a core 2 duo or atleast a P4. What celeron is it? You should be able to get a processor that fits in your board. Though you might not want to of course.

my mobo does not support dual cpus, my mobo is LGA 775 and that celeron is @ 2.8ghz:(
