Celerons 1ghz<...<1.5ghz

Celerons or P3 1ghz<...<1.5ghz

I plan to make a cheap upgrade to my pc: replace my 1ghz celeron with something a bit better - motherboard(abit st6) supports speeds up to ~1.5ghz so i need to know which processors can i buy. www.intel.com didn`t gave me very good list i think cuz there were even no 1ghz with 128kb cache(like i have).
As far as here only processor i know which would fit to me is celeron 1.4ghz.
Is there any more good options? (has to be 370pin; support bus 133mhz and speed up to 1,5ghz)

All I can say is good luck... There are not many processors over 1GHz that are socket 370. There is a really nice Pentium 3 1.4GHz...I can't recall the name but I kind of doubt that motherboard would support the model. The most I can find, anyway, are around 1GHz and about $80. I suspect you could find a decent combo mobo and CPU for a little bit more...
 
I dont need certainly a new cpu, it can be second-hand also.

Btw: is there any soc370 processors which supports bus 133mhz? I bought myself some pc133 memory but damit my pc won`t start with these(i think its because of my cpu)
 
just upgrade to a anykind 478 board and you can upgrade more. and you can find 20 dollar 478 boards. sometimes even free ones after rebate
 
In autumn i will get new pc (some 3000+) but till then i need little more than 1ghz.
"The_Other_One" does this P3 what u were talking about support bus 133mhz?

I Believe since you say your motherboard supports 133 bus that you could at least put a Pentium 3 EB 1133ghz 133 FSB I dont see any reason why this cpu would not work

A pentium 3 1400ghz 133FSB might work also. This cpu uses Tualation core instead of the coppermine core that your celron and the p 3 EB 1133 use. You would have to check to see if your motherboard supports p3 with Tualation cores.

The p3 1400ghz 133FSB(there is 2 version of the cpu the main difference is one has 256 L2 the other has 512 L2 chache) is the highest possiable cpu that you can find in skt370.

I try to look up your motherboard to see if can find out more exactly if it will support these.

These P3 with 1.4 ghz would be perfect for me
